Fantastic May Day Holiday....

It's been so long since I managed to capture sweet sleeping poses of Elijah.

This time we didn't go for the hotel stay with Yap family...coz of Elijah's cough...kind of uncertain whether he will be well or not. Here's the photos of some fun time in their hotel room in Pan pacific...think Elijah enjoys it lots.

Lots of shopping time after that.....everything ended with a delicious dinner at Outback steakhouse in Millenia walk....see Elijah with nice baby biscuits...daddy and mummy had our most decent dinner together as a family of 3 at the dinner table.

Stand...stand stand stand.....standing day?

Today Elijah seems to be standing alot more and he stood up longer. While we were reading to him his bedtime session...he kept standing up lots. Trying hard to balance himself. Was really special to see him stand so much. I think he did a good job....although I am really anxious abt him not being able to walk yet but I guess I'm simply too anxious that's all. My little boy is really growing lots....and to see him to progress to stand for a few seconds....that feeling is fantastic.

Basically he will be staring at his flashcards.....unconsciously.....squatting then balancing to stand....then squatting again and sitting down. The whole cycle will continue for a couple of times. That is if he gets tired out....he can do it continuously for like 5-10 times.

Besides trying to stand, I am really happy that his cough is gone for good....at least that is what I hope for. So far I have not heard him cough...enough of the cough......gone gone gone.

He has been waking up alot earlier like 6am  in the morning. I was really worried abt him waking up so early and I would not be able to cope with the cooking of the porridge. But Elijah was a really good boy...he slept...seems to be tossing and turning lots at abt 5+am. However, he fell asleep again..phew. Slept till 6.40am. Good enough for me to finish all my chores and left for work on time.

I love my little Elijah. Simply can't get enough of him. Although I went back to work since Jan....he is still super sticky to me. There was a period it got better but coz of his really bad cough...I was with him quite often. He seems to be going through that sticky phase again....perhaps separation anxiety. Hope it'll get better as he grows older. Mummy loves U lots. Mummy is not going anywhere yah. My sweet standing boy.

We went to 5 star chicken rice for dinner....nice dinner and not too ex too.

Cough cough cough...when will it end?

Been a long time since I've blogged about my sweet little Elijah. But I will try to update small short bits whenever I can. Have been so busy at work that I feel alittle guilty about neglecting my little prince.

It's been a long tiring episode....not tiring physically but tiring mentally...coz my heart has been aching for my little darling Elijah. He had been sick since 9thApril....almost 2-3 weeks ago. It started with running nose...then a really persistent cough and then the scarey phlegmy wheeze came. Am really really worried. Didn't want to see him suffer like the previous bronchitis episode. Didn't want my little baby to be asthmatic as well. I brought him to see Dr Ong once again.

On 9th April....Dr Ong heard his wheezing lungs. Prescribed him the neubilizer medication. We had to loan the neubilizer to administer it at home. Elijah was a sweet sweet baby who cooperated lots when mummy and daddy had to give him his 3 hourly dose of neubilizing drugs.

However, poor Elijah had been coughing so badly at night that it affected his sleep. Was so bad that I even administered the neubilizer at night as Elijah had so much difficulty falling asleep. Cough cough cough...he coughed lots.

Saw Dr Ong again on 12th April (Tues) .....Got Elijah off the neubilizer and continued with oral neubilizing drugs instead. Phew....no more neubilizer coz it was such a hassle to have to bring the neubilizer to and fro. But most imptly, Dr Ong said that Elijah was alot better as his lungs doesn't sound so wheezy anymore. By weekend, Elijah would be well.

However, I feel ill on the next day perhaps all due to the lack of rest. It was really tiring......and I had to prepare the lecture for Thurs. I was lecturing and blowing my nose to get rid of the phlegm.....and a sore throat and sneezy...everything fell on me at the same time.

So infectious mummy...infected daddy and Elijah....on 17th April....when Elijah was on the road to recovery...daddy and Elijah both started the sneezing symptoms. Haiz..that aggrevated Elijah's cough....so his cough came back before he had time to recover. Poor him coughing and coughing again.

Unsettled....we went back to Dr Ong on 21st April...this time Dr Ong changed his medication and even prescribed the lung tonic. It was supposed to last him 1 whole month and with no side effects...it was supposed to desensitize his lungs. I took the tonic but hesitated coz was really worried abt long term side effects. So dearie Elijah boy...please get well. Mummy need you to be well....pains me to hear him cough at night. Coughing so badly..wish I can make the cough go away really fast.

1st experience being mum to 3 kids and a fantastic weekend.....

Sis and Mel went to Korea for a holiday....I promised Ellie and Elliot a outdoor day on Good Friday. Babysitting them on top of taking care Elijah.

Started off great....showered the kids hahah for the 1st time...showered for my niece and nephew. Had to ask them how mummy or daddy showered them hahahaa. Made them nap...the weather din look very good in the morning. Thankfully it became better. So off we all went to the Marina Barrage.....Gong Gong and Ah ma haven't been there too.

We had a fantastic time....outdoor. Elijah loved the kites...couldn't take his eyes off them. I've never seen so many kites in the sky within a confined area...it was amazing but crowded as well.

After that...every1 was famished. Went to eat at 7th storey restaurant...CHICKEN RICE..yummy. Elliot ate so much hahahhaa.....Ellie too. Think all had a good meal.

Was a nice weekend even though it was hectic coz I had to take care of all 3 kids...nagging at them...hahaha making sure they don't fall and run off. Tiring but nice.

Daddy & family....we went to Paradise Seafood restaurant at Defu lane.

Mummy & family...we had bowling 1st on Elijah's actual birthday.

He was so facinated with bowling hahahha..he kept staring and pointing.
Followed by nice set dinner meal in hilltop restaurant. Guess there's a certain attachment to the restaurant coz that's where daddy and mummy held their wedding dinner too. Anyway food was ample and yummy too.
Elijah's nice yummy chocolate cake was from Jane's station at Jalan Kayu...not bad at all...was v rich..the kids LOVE it.

Bronchitis Episode @ TMC

25th Feb 9pm
Elijah had been sick for almost 4-5 days.....He had been coughing so badly that he couldn't sleep at all. His fever shot up to 39 degrees.....Cheewan was busy that night so I asked Dad to bring me to Lighthouse to check if Elijah was alright. I had been administering Mucolix for him but that doesn't seem to be working.


Saw Dr Gan at lighthouse....hmm....he called me to get dad in. Then he patiently explained to us that Elijah had bronchitis and even downloaded the wheezing sound to show dad on his computer. I think Dr Gan was really really nice and patient...I really like this Dr....and wrote us a referral letter to get him to a hospital as soon as he had taken the medicine. Called Cheewan and he was on his way home. So after medic...we headed off to Thomson Medical Centre.


Waited just alittle while....even met Nathalie in TMC that day. The wait wasn't too long..thank goodness for the private hospital. He really had bronchitis and they called for Dr Ong to visit him. Dr Ong gave him a jab..with him crying and also the medic via buttocks for his high fever. He gave us the option whether we wanted to admit him...although he did advised us that it'll be better to admit him.

26th Feb till 2nd Mar
So he stayed from 25th Feb till 2nd Mar. 6 whole days.


Throughout the stay he was given neubilizer every 4 hourly and 4 hourly temp check and fever medic if necessary. His fever never seems to go away. Medicine..check..neubilizer...everything came in a schedule.
It was really worrying....fever on and off on and off throughout the stay only till 1st Mar did it slowly came down.


He was supposed to be given IV but then nurses drew his blood without inserting the IV already...so doc said it's ok. Just give him oral antibiotics then. But that doesn't seem to be working v well. Haiz.


Throughout the days...he was given antibiotics...fever medic...taking temp...neubilizer...and physiotherapy. He hated physiotherapy most. He also had to take nasal mucous sample...poor thing.


Oh well...after the blood culture and everything...everything seems to be not conclusive except there is Staphylococcus bug...after that Doc gave him a diff antibiotics..that seems to work..a jab on Mon evening. That did the magic trick. He was fine after that...no more fever. Coughing still alittle but improving.


Mummy stayed throughout the whole hospital stay with you....but had to teach on Mon coz full lessons. Luckily daddy stayed with you on Mon morning. And Gong Gong, Ah Ma, Yee Yee, Gu gu all came to visit U during the stay.


Well here's some photos....see ur nice big room. U slept in the cot while mummy get a nice hospital bed....luckily we covered u with private hospital insurance..phew. Thank goodness for that.
