Missing Elijah for 1 whole week

Took a long time before agreeing to this...a school trip to NZ from 27th Nov to 3rd Dec. When discussing with Cheewan...the thought of it made me cry already. But how long can I keep rejecting worktrips coz Elijah is young. I know i can't continue to do it. Decided to do this coz it's only 1 week with a very interesting itinerary...very bio based. I like it. Hope it's gonna be worth my time away from Elijah.

Elijah and daddy accompanied me to the airport....was afraid I'll break down. Think it's me who cant let go rather than Elijah. I spent almost $200 on his frozen food from Petit Bowl to relieve all from worrying abt his food. He is a fortunate little boy, always been eating mummy's home cooked food all along.

At the airport, I was too busy handling and briefing the students that I had to bid my goodbye to my small and big men earlier than expected. I knew am gonna so miss them.

The trip was amazing...I miss NZ. Wish I was with Cheewan and Elijah...so wanna enjoy NZ with them. The learning was rich..the guide was superd. Arron the guide really knew his stuff very well and he was really good at simplifying the explanations for the kids. $ well spent. At 1st...I thought the trip was really ex but after everything...I changed my verdict...worth every cent paid.

Liking the experiential learning...doing transect study in a little protected patch of forest...Maungatuatari reserve...a fenced up area to protect the rare flightless birds. River studies of invetebrates....studying the indicator species that were sensitve to pollution. Cockles study..again indicator of pollution...count and size of cockles.

Scenery was beautiful but I do agree South Island is more beautiful...North Island is not as scenic...not sure if it is a fair statement since I'm only there for 5 days technically. The experience was fantastic...apart from the biology aspects....there were other fun stuff e.g astronomy night, global warming lecture, etc. Being ex-astronomy club teacher..brought back memories..esp with Siao Chean's batch....the experience was amazing...although it was abit cloudy but that did not spoil any of our mood. Reminded me of days in tasmania..the view from the mountain...star gazing..was amazing. I loved lunches coz it's usually sandwiche or pizza....perfect food and outdoor view..sometimes on a grass patch...sometimes on a beach. Dinners suck..always asian food and I hate eating Asian food in a non-asian country....not authentic at all. We're in NZ and we should try NZ food not Asian food. Hmmm...

Apart from loving all the experiential learning that the kids will never be able to gain from Singapore...I hated some stuff about the trip. Hated being the main teacher who had to deal with discipline....nagging them abt the moving so slowly...reminding them it is not a leisure trip...reminding them abt the gift prepared for the Marae stay....reminding them not to be late for every morning cum free time.

Called home everyday...so had to talk to and listen to my 2 most impt men in my life. I made a video for Elijah in cased he missed me too much. Cheewan showed it to him on day 4 of my trip...oh my...he cried non-stop after watching it. Think he din realized how much he missed mummy till he was reminded of me again. And thus that was the only time he watched that video...bad idea from mummy hahaa. He was alright without me despite my worries of how it would be for him. I'm the one who would tuck him in to bed. Was super worried he'll be crying non-stop but everything turned out alright. I guess out of sight and out of mind did work for him.

Well, everything went on smoothly in fact both with regards to the trip and at home. Daddy rocks right...Elijah. Am glad you had quality time with daddy!!! Priceless.

Me and Elijah in the airport before the trip
At Mount Eden...the view of Auckland from high ground
Astronomy night....a wonderful experience
These people make their own telescopes...amazing
A rare sight of Takahe spotted at Maungatuatari reserve
Feeding swan at Rainbow Springs
Rotorua...and the lovely 3 teachers.Love rotorua.
The H2S smell filled the air. Interesting place.
Kiwi plant...at last got to view the real thing from the plant itself.
The most delicisious and freshiest kiwi ice cream I've ever tasted.
Can't resist hugging the piglet at the petting farm
Invetebrate studies at river bank....a fantastic experience. My fave portion.
Students hard at work doing cockle transect studies...while I posed for the camera.
Blokart....lack of strong wind...a big disappointment for teachers but not students.
They had laser quest in a really big outdoor compound.

Welcome performance by the Maori
Stay at the marae...priceless experience and a very spiritual one too.

Singing Elijah

Did quite a bit of Xmas shopping. Can't believe we have to do so way in advance coz we have no more free weekends left. So off we were in Orchard Road the whole day.

Went to nice Imperial Treasure Nanjing for brunch...was fantastic. One of the nicest dim sum I've ever tasted....anyway it was Elijah's first time singing a song. While we finished our meal and the waitress was trying to clear the plate, Elijah started to sing 'Twinkle twinkle little star....how I wonder what you are'. The waitress heard and gave a wide smile. It was Elijah's 1st attempt in singing a complete phrase of a song. He could complete the last word of each phrases at 16-17month old of ke ren lai and twinkle twinkle little star. Think those were the 1st 2 songs he knew. I'll consider this your 1st song.

Hurray Elijah...mummy loves your singing. Do sing lots lots. Mummy is so proud of you.

We even bought you yet ANOTHER Xmas present.....think the truck and the excavator weren't enough....we bought U a Toy Story 3 tent....for you to hide hide inside. You lucky chap...so many xmas presents eh.

Bought for Elliot the turtle family and ellie...hehehe have to ask sis to buy her books once again. Couldn't resist buying a fox fleece coat for Elijah. :)

No more crying Elijah during vaccination

Elijah has been past 18months old already. Worried about MMR and the link with autism...although there's no scienific proof but just can't help it as a parent. Anyway Elijah is 20months old already and he's well these days. Think I better act fast...go for MMR vaccination before he catches any bout of flu and we're going for our trip in Dec.

Well...the day started off as per normal to ah ma's house late though....Daddy's alarm failed hehehehe. Thankfully no invigilation. Called Toh Yi Clinic at 8am sharp for a no. It started pouring heavily...sighz. Nevermind if needed to I shall carrier him. But alas 3 calls and noone picked up. Finally got through.....no. 11 it was. Was shocked that it was already no 11. Well..good thing and the great thing was that doc would arrive at 9am so at least not such long waiting time. Ooh well...called again at 9.15am...it was still at no.1. Called again at 9.45am...it was at no. 6. Thought I'll do my leisure walk down with Elijah's pram. Well....put on our cap incase it starts dizzling again. He was such a cutie...he pulled out his cap initially...but ah ma told him it was raining so must keep his cap on. Afterthat, he never removed it till I reached the clinic and helped him with it.

Upon reaching, I looked at the no...no. 9 already. That was fast. Guess some nos were skipped as pple were not around. Elijah quietly stayed in his pram. Thankfully there was a fishtank of gold fish to keep him entertained. It was great. We didn't have to wait very long but the clinic was moderately crowded. Saw this mother and son...they were no. 22. Poor thing..it's gonna be a long wait for them.

Ooh soon it was our turn. Kept telling Elijah before hand we were going to see Dr Yap not Dr Ong. I reminded him of Dr Yap's toys so he knew exactly who he was going to see. Once we entered the room, Elijah's eyes brightened up....think he really was distracted with the no of toys. The 1st thing Dr Yap did was to whipe up a toy and placed in front of Elijah while we had our chat. I decided that it was going to be a simple MMR jab not the new one....the one without chicken pox vaccine. Think I won't really jab him fo chicken pox. My idea is that once U get it...get it over and done with.

For MMR, if there's fever arising, it would only show up 1 week later. So great....Lucas's party would not be affected by this vaccine. YEAH! When it was time for the jab, Dr Yap asked me to sit Elijah on my thigh and clamp his right feet with my thigh. He again whipped up 1 of the toy that when U pressed it turned and turned with a choo choo train turning inside. I pressed lots for Elijah. holding on to his right hand. Viola.....seconds later before Elijah could react...Dr Yap gave the vaccination. Afterwhich Elijah looked over the right side..think he must have felt the pain alittle. (Dr Yap said the previous were intramuscular not so painful...this is the 1st intravenous injection so more painful.) No tears or whinning throughout the whole session. Dr Yap immediately said...what what...pretended nothing happened.

Dr Yap is fantastic with kids. Previously at Aglow, before Dr Ong even inserted the needle, Elijah would be in tears already. Think he could sense injection coming.

Well, basically Dr Yap rocks. Think we're going to stick to Dr Yap for good. Reasonable priced and good esp since he's not a PD. Tis great we found a good doc and near ah ma's house so super convenient. YEAH! :)

Although I will miss going to United Square coz of Toy R Us and the rabbits, but I do think Dr Yap handles kids alot better for that guess we have to give United Square a miss.

NO MORE CRYING ELIJAH!!!!!

Visit to Auntie Felicia and Baby Rei

At last I've got a day off....and we've decided to take the chance to visit Felicia and baby Rei. Sometimes don't know why it has been so super busy especially this year. I feel it much more...maybe coz weekend is always so super precious. Our only whole days with Elijah and it seems so filled with activities. Even a simple work seems so pleasurable and we take every effort to bring him out for a good run.

Met Vi in Woodlands MRT then made our way to Felicia's house. Issac was tired out slept the whole way..he din even get to see baby Rei.

Elijah was the lucky 1...saw sweet Auntie Felicia and Baby Rei. He was super entertained in Auntie Felicia's house.....running around....going from room to room..think he loves that house too. Wide space for him to run around. :)

Vi and me took turns to carry baby Rei...she's really such a sweetie pie. Can't wait for her to grow up and play with our boys. Think she's gonna be a really pretty gal....mabbe our boys will be fighting to play with her haahaha. Somehow it's really cute that most of us...me, Vi and Chaiyen ended up with boys as our first born.

Think Vi and me had our fun carrying a baby gal. Well....wish us luck when we have our no. 2. Ideal case I guess........but whatever it is think we both know a healthy little baby is what we can ask for.

Gorgeous Mummy Felicia and cheeky Elijah
 Elijah loving Auntie Felicia's house....freedom
My little monkey face
Vivien so happily carrying sweet baby Rei

Elijah's 1st concert experience

Today is a really packed day for Elijah. His day starts at 5+am......we sent Ah Ma, Gong Gong and Ah Gu to the airport. They took Silkair to Xiamen and Kinmen. Think ah Ma is really excited about it. So we all went to the airport for a breakfast with all. Elijah had a great time running around in the airport. He was so happy even though it was so so early. Wanted to go East Coast park but it was running so dropped the idea.

Next was Solomon's 1st birthday party. Cheewan's friend Sutowo's boy's 1st birthday.....Solomon is a really happy and smiley baby. But oh boy...he was really a heavy weight boy...he's 12 months old and probably or rather certainly heavier and bigger sized than Elijah. Hhehehe..think Elijah had a great in his exersaucer even though he was probably overaged for that. A quick lunch over there...then off we rushed to the next destination.

This was highlight of the day for both Elijah and Ellie. It was Elijah's 1st time attending a concert and Ellie 1st performance.....a jazz dance item in MGS....hope for...erm was it cancer? Anyway it's a yearly concert to raise funds and awareness for national cancer society. It's been so long since I've stepped into MGS. Although I did spent a period of time in this new school compound, I realized I hardly remember much of it....I seems to remember the old school compound back in Mt Sophia much better. Maybe my memories are failing me. Hehehhe.

Well, initially I was totally worried about Elijah not sitting still throughout the concert. But I realized that was least of my concern. My little boy...ahem..probably got my musical genes hehehee. He simply enjoyed himself totally. He was clapping like crazy when he heard the thunderous claps before and after each performance. He listened and watched tentatively to the many performances....some instrumental pieces, some dances....some sang by the choir....he simply loved it. He even spontaneously started clapping when he enjoyed the performances in the middle of it....though I was a little embarrassed (phew he wasn't so loud) but I was proud that my little boy...barely 2 year old can appreciate music. There were so many instances he nearly cried when the curtains drew. He kept saying 'open, open'...asking to open the curtains coz he hadn't gotten enough of the items yet. There was once after the choir performances...he even cried asking for more.

Guess I am amazed that he could really sit down to appreciate music at such a young age. Was totally thankful that I took the courage to bring him for a concert. I think there would be many more to come. This concert was totally appropriate for him.....each item was short and sweet and the items kept changing....which resulted in him asking for more. It was simply an enriching experience for both Elijah and us as parents.
The opening item...wah so many jie jies...Elijah was really intrigued by the performances.
Elijah clapping frantically....he surely enjoyed the concert!!!!
Elijah enjoying his little snack of biscuit during the interval...look at his biscuit-filled mouth!!
Elijah with Ellie jie jie during her break time...wait a min is it Elijah or Ellie supposed to be dancing...hahaha. Think Elijah looks more enthusiatic to dance than the real dancer.

Ooh the day didn't ended there. We met up for Cynthia and Andy, Vivien and Issac and Chaiyen and family. It was a great day having dinner at Tampopo Liang court....having yummy black pork and oh my the most yummy eggy I've ever tasted.....hard boiled on the outside and half boiled on the inside. Yummy. It was great catching up with everyone. The boys didn't play much coz both Elijah and Issac fell asleep and Lucas came late. I can't imagine the day when all 3 boys could play together and us parents having tea by the side. Hehhehe...guess I'll wait for that day to come soon.

A great day and I'm sure a great weekend eventually.

Playing the piano is therapeutic!!!

It was a normal day today....with me spending half a day with Elijah. I have a love and hate relationship with Monday. I hate my really pack time-table...8am to 1pm...pack back to back 3 1.5 hours lessons with only 0.5hour break. I hate it coz that day sucks and it is a very 'long' day. But love it coz I rather have a pack day than one with lots of breaks...I can hardly be productive during short breaks. Love it as I will force myself to leave by 1.30pm coz I can hardly think by then.....mentally and physically drained. Love it coz I will be able to spend half a day with Elijah once again.

It was a normal Monday. However, after dinner, on our way home, Elijah as usual wanted to see Yasmin jie jie's cat (our friendly neighbour). Elijah likes Yasmin lots so he will usually stop by at their gate and says jie jie's cat cat or alternatively he will shake his hand to signify that the cat is not there. Today he saw the cat....and the worst thing was he said 'open door'. Oh my goodness...he even demanded to enter to see cat cat. Uncle Selamat....of course whipped out the key and opened the door....invited us in as he initially invited a few neighbours as perhaps they wanted to drop by to see hello to them for Hari Raya. He asked if we could stay and have some tea since the rest would be coming any moment. We obliged and felt very embarrassed with Elijah's request.

We had a great time there...Elijah was trying to find the cat all the time while the cat was frantically trying to run away. The family adopted the cat not too long ago...it's a british blue. Very nice breed and very good nature but alittle timid as perhaps it had some bad experiences with the owner before this.

Apart from the great time, we had lovely food...thanks to Selamat and his family. The kids(Yasmin, Kathi, and Xinyi) had a lovely time running around and playing. They started with a bouncy rubber ball...and playing monkey with it....Elijah joined in the fun till he noticed the piano. He went and was interested in it. I think he was mesmorized with it after that. He was pressing the keys and enjoying himself. He wasn't the least bit interested with playing monkey and ball. He just kept pressing and pressing the keys for at least a good 10-15mins before he succumbed to the temptation of food.

Well....maybe you do have an interest in music...mummy will love for you to acquire some music skills eventually. Hope it is in tune with your interest. Your first experience with the piano has been a really positive one. Music rocks and piano rocks. :)

High Fever Episode

Friday Night
Elijah had been sick the past few days. Fever aint going away. Sighz. Decided to try Neurofen on him...the more powerful fever medication. He was totally exhausted by the time I tuck him into bed.

3+am. He fussed...I went to check on him. Gosh he was so hot even though I had administered the powerful fever medic. It wasn't working. I was lost about what to do but my first instinct was to give him more paracetamol. I gave him that and water. He was really thirsty. He gulped down his whole cup of water in 1 breath. He wanted more. I went downstairs to grab the thermometer first. The next thing...Elijah puked out his medic and water on me. Was calling out to Cheewan as I did not wish to dirty the place anymore than that. Daddy to the rescue. Daddy came to carry him while I clean myself up.

Mentioned to Cheewan we need to bring him to Dr tom morning. Although Elijah had really high fever, he kind of remembered Dr Ong. He immediately blurted out Dr Ong. At least I know he is very conscious even with his high fever. We measure his temp...to our horro the thermometer read 40.8degrees. Gosh...I froze there for a while while Cheewan said to administered suppository immediately. Alot of things was in my head...was my little boy really ok...what should we do...I shouldn't have fed him the paracetamol without measuring his temp,..was it ok to give both paracetamol and supp immediately. Anyway we decided to put in the suppository..gosh I have no idea how to do it....so with a wailing baby...i just tried and tried. It took my about 3 mins at least to insert it in. Phew....and now..we can only wait for his temp to go down.

While I pat him back to bed...Cheewan cleaned up the floor. Elijah..please get well. Really hurts me to see you so sick. Hope you will get well soon.

Saturday
Somehow the medic seems to be working fine...his fever went off completely on Sat Morning. However, we made our way to Dr Ong's clinic. Alas....he was closed due to Hari Raya...prob..his assistants can't be around. Called the emergency hotline to see if I can get advice on the fever portions and with a haywire dosage given previously..what to do as a followup.

No luck....Dr Ong was not in town. Ok...option 2 or option 3. To see lighthouse or to go try the new Toh Yi Clinic. I took option 3. We reached Toh Yi clinic at abt 9.45am. Ohmy....the no on the screen read 4. We were given no 42. My goodness. We went to Mum's house to hangout meanwhile waiting for our turn. Elijah's fever did not flare up after that episode. The only problem was his wheezing still sound pretty bad. The wait was terrible as we did not know whether to let him nap and let him have his lunch.

Eventually we managed to see the doc at 2pm. It was crazy...the shuttles of the clinic was shut already and we had to go in via the backdoor. Luckily our timing was perfect. Saw Dr Yap. He was cool. Very experienced and had his way with kids. Elijah hardly cried except when he was told to open his mouth. Dr Yap had so many toys in a basket in his room that he simply whipped out whenever Elijah got impatient.

Anyway verdict is we like Dr Yap lots. Think we will go back to him again. Yipppeeee.....
The good thing is due to our funny concoction of fever medicine. His fever disappeared. YIIIPPPEEE...and the thing i like abt Dr Yap is he doesn't seem to be keen to load medic on Elijah. I am quite confident if we went to Dr Ong. He would be neubilized but for Dr Yap he doesnt seem to see the need for that.

Elijah...you're doing great. Rest lots and get well fast yah.

My little Prince is sick again!!!

Our initial plan was to bring Elijah to the Zoo during this long weekend. Alas...he fell sick again. Sighz...my little prince seems to be sick lots. Wish his immunity will get better as he grows older. Am truly worried about his health.

He was coughing randomly on Tues 7th Sept. Wed.....we were supposed to go shopping with Iris and Pat Yee Yee...but Elijah had fever on Tues night. So there goes our plan...poor him. Eversince...his fever is running high.....everytime hitting 39degrees celcius without fail.

Coughing and wheezing seems to be his biggest problem...so here it comes too. Am worried he would be on the neubilizer again....will that make him dependent on it. For once..I wanna try the oral ventolin and persist with it. If he doesn't get better by Mon...I'll bring him to the doc then.

Tonight Cheewan is out with his KL relatives.....so it's ME time. Appreciate the ME time..for once it came so early in the night....Elijah is sick so he was totally exhausted by 9.30pm...off to bed and without fussing...slept soundly except for the coughing parts. After some chores...washing up bottles etc....it's 10.30pm. Although I appreciate the ME time...but for once I became alittle lost. Lost about what to do....haven't been blogging coz of the tonns of work...even though it's hol....time just doesn't seem to be enough. Wish I had more than 24 hours a day and wish I needed even less sleep. Want to blog even more but camera is with Cheewan so all the photos are there...so guess I have to find something else to keep myself busy for once.

Elijah...please get well soon. Lots more places and adventures mummy wanna show you. Get well fast yah.

Mummy misses you badly....can't kiss you night night! HAPPY TEACHERS' DAY TO ME!!!

It's Teacher's Day dinner yesterday.....am happy to be able to attend Teacher's Day dinner unlike 2 years but am sad that I can't tuck Elijah to bed today. It's one of the rare days mummy can't give you a big hug. I haven't been able to see you...kiss you..hug you for more than 24 hours.

I so wanna see you in the afternoon...but I can't simply bring you home....I won't be able to change and get ready and daddy can't be home in time before I leave. I don't want you to fuss at grandma's place when I leave so I gotta be hard-hearted to not see you at all.

I had a fantastic lunch with Renee and Mengyin...it's been quite a while since we've sat down to chat non-stop. It was really nice. Since I can't see you...mummy decided to give myself a day out. I went for manicure...at long last...hmmm...when was the last time I did that...I can't really remember that perhaps 3 years ago. Hahhahaa I so wanna do it...so I sneak a session of that in between the shopping and the dinner at Hilton Hotel.

Dinner was nice coz of the company....but we were really famished..by 8.30pm...the party hasn't started. The party next door was way past the warming-up phase....it was happening when all the speeches over ourside were still on-going.

I had the chance to meet the babies again...Weixin...weien and Tingwan's girl. All were so sweet. Made me think of Elijah lots. But ME time did not stop there....it followed on with KTV session till 3am. I was exhausted...think age has caught up with me. Singing non-stop was fun but think I was zombified after that.

The consolation of missing you for more than 24hours was knowing that I'll be able to Teachers' Day with you. I'm so happy for that. Tis good to be a teacher....I LOVE TEACHING AND I LOVE ELIJAH AND CHEEWAN!!!! :)

Daddy's day trip to KL equals Elijah's airport trip

Today, Cheewan went to KL for a day trip....flew there early in the morning and he flew back by 6+pm. It was my excuse to go to the airport. I love airports!!!! And what's more...there's popeye there. Hahahah...shopping and popeye sounds heavenly to me. So I decided to drive Elijah alone to the airport to fetch Cheewan.

We reached airport really early like 4+pm. I was hoping for Elijah to take a nap coz he refused his afternoon nap but he simply wasn't tired. And he was such a darling throughout the car ride..enjoying his music CD..no fussing at all...simply sucking his thumb away.

Mummy had a great time with him...he sat quietly on his pram throughout almost close to 2 hours. Mummy brought him to times bookshop..to see Merly..to shop..although he refused to allow mummy to shop except to show him cutie stuff he was interested in or Toy story stuff. He loves the playground....he was laughing lots when I was pushing him round and round the indoor playground. The little pleasures in life.

Oh well....he was really a very good boy all the while...even in the skytrain..he was such a darling. Mummy and daddy met in Terminal 2 hoping to see Samsonite...coz we wanted to get for Elliot a luggage bag but no luck..there wasn't any sammies in Singapore..oh well...we had to make do with something else I guess.

Dinner was of course at popeye...it was yummy. I think right now it is my favourite fried chicken chain. I believe Elijah had a great day too...and the most fantastic thing was having daddy home once again. When will be our next airport trip?? Guess we're all looking forward to it.

Us having our nice dinner in yummy popeye fastfood chain
Elijah enjoying his drive after dinner!! Vroom vroom!

The birth of Merly

Iris Yee Yee went to town and we requested for her to buy Merly for Elijah. Hmm...how did Elijah find out about Merly...the YOG mascot? Well....we passed by a giant board of Lyo and Merly everyday when daddy drive past the junction to home and causeway point. He will definitely stare at Merly...so over time via the introduction of Lyo and Merly by mummy....Elijah recognised these 2 cute YOG mascots. I think he is in love with Merly. He is so obsessed with Merly that no matter where we go..he would be staring and telling me that is Merly.

Since he loves Merly so much, we decided to buy Merly for Elijah. So today is the birth of Merly. He owns Merly..hehehe. I personally like Merly better as a picture...I think the mascot is not as cute. But I think it doesn't matter to Elijah. I suppose it's a way for him to own a piece of history of Singapore in that sense. I guess it is love at first sight. He hugged and kissed Merly at the very moment he saw her.

Elijah with his Merly.....Elijah loves Merly

The day ended with dinner at Teochew porridge and coffee session at Old Town Cafe....Elijah had his fair share of yummy bread on top of his porridge. My little eating Machine!!!!

Elijah with Iris Yee Yee and Uncle Yippy.....look at him enjoying his bread.
He definitely finds it yummy!!!

Visit to Dr Ong again...I'm well!!!

We're back in Dr Ong's clinic today to see if everything is back to normal for Elijah and to return the rented neubilizer. Elijah is appreciating Dr Ong's clinic more and more now...coz he gets to see the nice BIG tank of fishes cum prawns in the clinic. He simply adores staring at the little creatures swimming to and fro....especially the little prawns busy feasting the algae around the tank and the water plants.

Mummy...can I bring this BIG tank home???

The best part of visiting the clinic is that it's at United Square...so it means that mummy gets a little shopping while Elijah turns wild at toys'r'us. Right now...Elijah's craze is Woody, Jessie and Bullseye from Toy story. He simply adores them..he had a fun time looking at all the Toy story toy and the banners. :) We simply couldn't resist buying something for him. Haiz...falling into the trap of spoiling kids.

Anyway, Cheewan wanted to let Elijah choose between Elmo and turtle. Obviously....Elijah couldn't make the choice. He simply went crazy over whatever we showed him. Hahhahaha a wild kid running all over Toys'r'us. Anyway, in the end, I just chose turtle for him coz all the parts were soft unlike Elmo...more expensive and had the hard eye parts.

Elijah simply loves TOY STORY!!!! He has never watched the show before but his cousins introduced TOY STORY characters to him...he simply cannot stop calling out to Woody, Jessie and Bullseye.
Elijah: I LOVE ELMO!!!!!!
They also had nice big YOG Mascots posters. So had some photos taken with them for rememberance sake for Elijah. Hopefully...he'll remember that he was around during YOG period and he simply adores Merly.

Merly and Lyo with Elijah

The trip ended with visiting the rabbits at the learning lab...wonder how much learning lab is earning from all the rich parents....wish I had the courage and $ to start up such enrichment class. Afterall...they specialized in life science field...that's not too difficult for me. Heheheh.

Elijah with the Learning Lab rabbit....Elijah...certified an ANIMAL LOVER

Anyway it was a good day trip....we all had fun. And most importantly...I know that Elijah baby is getting better!!! :)

Sick AGAIN!?!

Poor Elijah is sick once again..the same phlegmy cough....poor him. Wheezing once again.

Went back to Dr Ong...and he again put him on the neubilizer. Haiz...Hope he'll get well soon again. Well at least, it's not affecting his sleep. Phew.

Happy 5th Year Together!!!

Today is our 5th Anniversary as a couple. 5 years had flew past....time flies.....from us getting married....having our own place...taking lots of holiday tog....being preggie...preparing Elijah's arrival and birth....Elijah's 1 year old birthday....to Elijah now...17months old. Guess it reminded me of lots of memories....and makes me think back of the many trips we took as friends too. We've grown lots as a couple too.

Oh well...anyway it was also a weekend so we were able to celebrate it as a family. Yiippeee.....we were out in 1 of our fave hangout place...Northpoint. Our fave coz Elijah always gets to visit lots of pets....dogs...cats...hamsters...rabbits..terappines. There's just a whole load of pet shop and grooming shop at the flats area. It's addictive for him and us...coz after seeing how much he enjoys the company of the animals...it just motivates us to bring him there more often.

Anyway we had an average dinner coz we wanted to treat ourselves to nice dessert instead. A nice warm chocolate cake from Bakerzin was to die for...so we decided to head there. Yippeee there was a nice 30% off on all desserts, cakes, mooncakes. Yah..perfect timing. We decided to feast on it. Elijah had a fantastic time too...he had probably the most delicious warm choco cake he has ever tasted. Hahhaha...he loved it. We had to eat at an amazing fast rate to avoid him eating too much. Hahhaa.

Basically we had a lovely day together. Hope we'll continue to grow to love each other even more. :)

Elijah giving us his checkiest smile when we told him to smile. Elijah trying to be a crocodile.

Peninsula Hotel...here we come....

About a week ago...our reservation at Peninsula Hotel finally got confirmed..thanks to Pat and Mel...pull strings do get us pretty good deal. I think we've got the best deal anyone could ask for....cheapest hotel rate around the region and best view...much better than those who are staying in 5-6 star hotels.

Both of us are looking forward lots to National day holiday...a long weekend....a nice break and fantastic weekend we can spend with Elijah.

The day started with a nice morning at walk at Upper Pierce reservoir...saw lots of monkeys.
Mummy and cutie Elijah at Upper Pierce Reservoir

Then off to the hotel stay after Elijah's nap and porridge was done. Pat had checked in for us....stayed in room 2116. Just 1 level below the sky lounge...what more can we ask for. Wow..the view is really stunning. Anyway we did lots of shopping..trying to find luggage...but no sale...so we decided to wait. Hoping to invest in a really light weight lugagge for our Taiwan trip in dec. Elijah was exhausted...slept during our shopping trip...what a darling.

We had the chance to visit Padang...before the actual day..the poor pple were still rehearsing..reminded me of the hard work we had to put in before every major school event. Pity those pple.

It was great fun that Elijah could spend lots of time with his cousins Elliot and Ellie. I think he really enjoyed himself running through the two rooms...coz they're interconnected. But poor Elliot was unwell so he was spending lots of time in the hotel room instead.

The next day was NATIONAL DAY..it was THE DAY..it was fantasitic..the atmosphere in the air was really high...Iris was coming..Mum and Dad came along in the air...it was really nice at least they didn't change their mind.

It was kind of weird to be so close to the real thing..weird in a nice fashion.....weird to be watching partial TV partial live...hahahha. Everyone's eyes were glued to our giantic windows...staring at the real action most of the time. The parachute event...the fighter pilots....the cannons.....the pledge...the small burst of fireworks and the giantic fireworks.

Recall back..this is Elijah's 2nd National Day....He spent both national days in hotel rooms..the 1st was Meritus Marina Manadarin and now.....Peninsula Hotel. We figured from last yr..which hotel had the best view ahhahah. However, think this is the 1st National Day he is conscious of his surrounding. He was full of expression when watching the parade....giving the signal of no more after each major event. He was the one who pointed us to the big helicopter with the flags...he couldn't stop saying 'aeroplane' after he saw the fighter jets. He was really so amazed with the whole experience. He asked for more fireworks...and he was pointing at the padang and asking for 'more'. It is really amazing how much he had grown. I'm really happy we brought him to have such a unique experience. Mummy and daddy really love u lots...Elijah.

Dinner that night was all the packed food....for youngster it was fast food..for mum and dad...it was foodcourt food. Even mum..totally enjoyed herself with the fireworks and stuff. Am so happy that night that I could spend the day with Cheewan and Elijah and my mum, dad and sisters too. Simply blissed.

We left the hotel after going to the bookshop at bras basah...we drove to the open space near the sports school and Christchurch Sec.....to see kites after Elijah had his nap. So the day didn't ended with just a hotel stay for him...he had lots of fun running around and staring at the many kites too. Many more fun sessions that daddy and mummy wanna spend with you. :)

Here's more photos...

* An add-on
We also took our very first family NEOPRINT on National Day itself. It was hilarious...we took it in 1 of the booth in Bugis junction. Everything was in Japanese....both mummy and daddy pressed everything without understanding a single bit hahahha. It was really funny. Surprisingly Elijah looked at the camera in all the poses...think he must have been quite entertained by both of us and wondered what in the world are we doing....laughing so hard most of the time. Oh well...here's the product of our creation.
