Elijah's reply was, 'Ah ma is not a boy!!.
Mummy asked again, 'Is 公公 a girl or boy?'.
His reply once again was, '公公 is not a girl!!'.
Faints!! He was giving me smart cheeky replies which were technically right!!

My little boy has grown up liao!!!

Cheewan is away for work again. This time to KL and BKK. I had prep Elijah that daddy had to sit aeroplane and work these few days so he won't be around. On Mon, I had to prep him that I was going to be the one sending him to school on Tues and Wed. It's not my most wanted job as Elijah had always been very sticky to me. When I was the one previously who sent him to school, he would wailed whenever I left his school. Teacher had to pluck him from my arms. Not a very pleasant sight at all and I always left with a heavy heart....even though I know he would stop crying when I'm gone. Just not a very pleasant thing to have to go through first thing in the morning.

Today and yesterday were a good change for a start. Tues...Elijah woke up happy. Greeted teacher Siti with a big good morning. Then followed me to put his bags and stuff and eat his tau sar bao. When I walk towards the front door, he did not ask me to carry him as well as he walked over to the computer area where everyone was. I walked away...didn't really say goodbye as I was afraid he would cry....he didn't cry...no whining too. He was alright and finally understood that I'm not abandoning him. It was a nice morning. It happened again on today. The same thing once again. This time, I even said bye to him and he was alright with it. He saw me leaving. It was great!!! My heart melted when I saw his sweet little eyes looking at me leaving. My little boy is a sensible boy already!!! Hurray. Success!! No more heavy heart!!

Was really happy yesterday. I cook maggi mee for us. Of course without putting in the MSG packet...with nice minced meat, egg and brocolli. He loved it kept asking me for more noodles. Went to buy him the Konfidence swimjacket, goggles, sun block and sun glasses at mothercare. Had discount...getting him ready for Maldives...think we both can't wait and are excited over the trip. Couldn't resist buying 3 in1 rice ball tau huay for ourselves. Hehhee.

Wed...He woke up in a reading mood. He was reading his doggie and cat book. So sweet. Had no choice but to convince him that we had to go to school already.

The day ended in Ah Mah's house and Iris Yee Yee is staying over too. He had a great time with all of them. And Elijah is in dreamland now. Am sure he misses Daddy lots lots.

Elijah's 1st Movie experience.....RIO

Decided that it was time to introduce the concept of movie to Elijah. Afterall, he did love the experience of a concept during Ellie's MG concert. Maybe he would like to watch a movie too. Anyway on this lovely Thurs, we decided to bring Elijah to watch Rio. First time that he would be in a movie theatre...we're not sure how he would be responding to it as well....whether he could sit there for an hour plus without running around. Well we'll find out!

His experience was complete with popcorn. PAssion card rock....it was $11.50 for 2 tickets complete with a small pack of popcorn. It was such a fantastic deal...only at Cathay cinemas. Great. I was grinning lots after buying the tickets. Went to fetch Elijah. He knew about it as we told him we were bringing him for a movie on the parrots.

When it all started...his eyes were glued. With periodic conversations like 'Mummy..what happened to the parrot?' . We tried to keep conversations to the minimal. Our little boy was such a darling. He sat throughout the show. He did enjoy it. Was already feasting on the popcorn way before the movie started. All was good...he didn't fuss for more popcorn.

Anyway it was a lovely experience. He was talking about Blu and Jewel after that.

All was well till we reached home...he started fussing. But I think he was too tired and overstimulated. He was fussing and fussing..till we tuck him to bed. Think it must be tiring for his little brain as he was concentrating for too long.

Anyway the experience was well worth it. BTW, it was also mummy and daddy's 1st movie experience ever since his birth. Hehehhe for once we get to experience it too.

My little understanding Boy!

Today Cheewan has a dinner function to attend to so am home alone with Elijah. Had took a cab to fetch him as it was really dark and cloudy. Thankfully I did that coz it was pouring moments later.

Anyway so I reached home...played with him alittle...started cooking pasta for us. But it was tough cooking and entertaining him so switched on Maisy for him to watch. Of course he loved it.

Did his usual of dinner.....interrupted with a pooing session and gave him a nice warm bath. He was in a really good mood....so I tried my luck. Asked Elijah if mummy could take a bath while he played in his cot. He said, 'Yes'. I asked him abt 3 times and everytime the answer was yes...told him not to cry coz after mummy had the shower...mummy would come to hug him. Also told him..he couldn't climb the cot. Asked him ,'If you climbed, what would happen?' and he would reply, ' Fall down. Pain pain.". My grown up little boy. He told me exactly which toys he wanted...Pet zoo's dog and surfing pal. I put some other toys in too but he rejected them and requested for them to be removed from the cot. Switching on 'Grandpa's song', off I went to shower.

So for the 1st time...I left him unattended...self entertained and took a shower. Probably the earliest shower I've ever had in ages. True enough he didn't fuss or cried for me throughout my shower. By the time i was done, he was rolling in his cot happily.

It was really nice to be able to spend time with Elijah lazing at home. :)

Somehow...it was a fantastic feeling. I truly felt that Elijah had grown up lots. Not only that...he was a really understanding little boy. A mature little boy with his cute baby face. I love you, Elijah. Thank you so much for the early shower.

Celebration of belated Elijah's birthday and ah Gu's birthday

Today Elijah managed to sleep in late....waking up only about 10am. It was a really rare day hahahahha. Perhaps due to his crying in the night at abt 3+am and telling me that he doesn't want to sleep...thankfully he still went back to sleep after a bit of crying. Phew.

It was quite a messy and frustrating day when it started out. 1st thing...I had forgotten to bring along the neubilizer. 2ndly....spilled more than half of his medicine (Amoxol) away in the market when i was feeding him that. 3rdly...there was just so many cars on our way out from Bukit Timah market. Arrrggghhhh such frustration.

He was alittle disappointed when Ellie and Elliot were not there yet. He was a sweet little boy...had to go and buy materials to make flower for his kindness day this week. He didn't cry at all....stayed with ah ma eventually when i left to buy stuff. He was getting used to us working and getting separated from him after all.

Came back with a new skill....the craft shop owner taught me how to make a flower eventually. Yah! :) Did up the flower with Elijah helping minimally hahaha. Guess it was too tough for him even though it was just a matter of folding and twisting. Had to convince him to nap....again he was playful about it. But when i told him...he had to sleep 1st so that I could get Elliot and Ellie to sleep on big big bed....then he quietly when back to sleep on his own. Yeah...fantastic little boy.

The day ended with a fantastic meal at BK Fortune Seafood. Fantastic crab dishes. It was quite yummy.....just that I forgotten to take a snap shot of the yummy dish in my midst of feeding Elijah. It was some salted egg crab dish...and Sri Lanka Crab...super big and yummy. The rest of the dishes were so so I guess. But it wasn't too ex I will say. :) Elijah had his fair share of crab watching hehehe. It was great having a meal together again. Everyone was travelling in the month of Mar...us and Pat to Japan...Bro to Shanghai, Suzhou and Hangzhou...Mum to China too.

Looking forward to our next big meal together again. Hmmm...guess it'll be Ellie and Claudia's birthday next. Yeah!

Family time!!!

Show and tell....fave fruit. STRAWBERRIES!!!

Today is Elijah's show and tell day....it's about fave fruit. We brought his fave strawberries to school. Hope he'll talk lots about it and abt his japan strawberry experience.

Elijah came back home today....happy. Poor little boy is down with running nose and cough as usual.

However, his mood changed to whinny and grouchy..think he was tired out. Probably didn't sleep too much for nap time and his night sleep coz he was coughing very badly. Hope that everything will be better tom.

Gave him amoxol, neulin and phenylamine. Hope his symptoms will go away soon.

Cough cough go away!!! Sighz. What else can I expect when all his classmates were either having running noses or coughing. The downside of childcare...but oh well.....Elijah's body have to get adjusted soonner or later.

Get well soon my boy. Hurts to hear you cough in the night disrupting your sleep!

Bring everyone!

Dinner today was at Singapura restaurant@selegie to celebrate gu gu's birthday. Before we left ah ma's house. It was goodbye time again.

As usual, we asked Elijah to give everyone a hug n the goodbyes. For the first time, Elijah gave a very pitiful look n started to say," bring iris yi yi, bring uncle yippy, bring Ellie Jie Jie, bring Elliot kor kor, bring pat yi yi, bring uncle mel.

My sweet little boy. Oh well, we had already preplanned for next weekend to be at coast @ sentosa coz the rest are watching Lion King. How I wish I could go too but Elijah is underaged! Next week, my dear, we can bring everyone by then n hopefully celebrate your birthday!

Elijah's 1st time squeezing between mummy n daddy

Elijah woke up on Friday morning at 4am...crying and mumbling something about Snoopy. Think universal studio japan had rub off on him. :)

Had to tell him sun sleep sleep n everyone else is sleeping too. He asked for mummy n daddy to wake the sun. In the end, had to ask him to try asking the sun on his own. For the 1st time I saw Elijah so angry, he screamed with his might angrily twice, "Mr sun". Haha was hilarious.

He asked for Ellie, Elliot, Pat yi yi and uncle Mel. Think he truly enjoyed his trip. Had to coax him with alot of effort plus put him on our big big bed. Alas he slept! Phew thought he was not going back to sleep.

Little boy woke up at 9.30am. Record breaking haha. It was so sweet to have him between us. I am so gonna miss this when he grows up.

The day was fantastic. We managed to squeeze in a swim before it poured. At last a swim.

What a great way to spend a Saturday! Not forgetting...Elijah eating his banana...and said, " I love bananas" spontaneously. What an expressive little boy!!! :)

A wee wee day!

Today am really happy that Elijah showed me that he is ready to be toilet trained!

During morning shower today, I undressed him and told him casually to go wee wee in the toilet. To my surprise, he went to the shower area and squatted down to wee wee. He indeed was able to understand what wee wee meant and this proved that he was ready to be toilet trained! YIPPPEEE!!!

Way to go, Elijah!

Real happy about that. So today marks the day that I tried to use training pants on him. Haven't really succeeded but I won't give up on that.

Elijah, mummy is sure that you'll be able to be toilet trained really soon.

The day ended with a 04S08 CNY gathering at our house...think Elijah was really high having so many visitors. He really enjoyed the company! What an end to a great day!

A little mei mei or a little didi???

Before I go on....I better declare that I am not pregnant 1st. Hahhaha...in case everyone self conclude due to the title of this post. Cheewan wanted to prep him for future...if we do intend to have another kid.

Well, Cheewan was chatting casually with Elijah on our ride home from my mum's house.

The conversation went like this.
Cheewan said: "Elijah, do you want a didi or mei mei?"
Elijah replied: " Baby mei mei!" (Mummy smiled instantaneously.)
Mummy said: " You can play with baby."
Elijah replied: " Play with baby Weixin and Weien."

My thoughts....hahahhaa wonder if he realised what a didi or mei mei meant to him in future...as in sharing the same mummy and daddy. Hmmmmm...hopefully he'll be not so jealous or possessive when he is older.

No more crying Elijah in the morning

2weeks and 2 days is what took Elijah to be totally ready for school. My little boy has finally not cried any bit when Cheewan drop him off and kissed him goodbye this morning.

After putting all his stuff in his classroom area, Elijah saw the kueh(wah ko kueh) that I steamed for him in his tupperware container and gave a smile. Daddy fed him along the way back to music room.

No whinning...no tears...he asked for a hug from daddy...and walk automatically to the music room when daddy put him down. He walked towards the toys and said find crab. There he was with no tears at last.

Hurray Elijah!!! You did it. Way to go. No more tears, my little boy. My little boy is a big boy already. I love you Elijah. I think you're adapting really well in school. Just hope you learn lots from there. Mummy is so proud of you.

A bad morning for Elijah

This morning, Elijah wake up at 5+pm asking for mummy. Daddy went to pat pat him as I needed to leave for work soon. He basically fussed....and fussed as he wanted me to pat pat him. He cried and wailed initially even asking 'mummy come back.' Screaming again and again that.

How heart wrenching it was for me to hear him wailed for me. I left as early as possible as I didn't want him to see me and I thought if he continued on perhaps daddy might carry him downstairs. I think his cough and running nose might have caused his fussiness. Let's hope Elijah gets well fast.

His running nose was alot better today.

After all the fussing, he went back to sleep again. Daddy had to wake Elijah up. Today he just whinned alittle when daddy kissed him goodbye! By the time, Daddy wore his shoes and peeped into the music room. Little Elijah had stopped already and was distracted by the toys. I think my little boy will be getting used to school life and coping with separation anxiety quite well. Let;'s hope soon there''ll be no tears!!!
